Top 14 Books I Read in 2014

Unlike last year I'm lifting one of the restrictions that I put on that list. So the rules for this list are, these are the top 14 books that I have read in the year 2014, mainly because there are a couple books on this list that I really wanted to include that I haven't posted a review on here for yet, and like last year only one book per author to make it as fair as possible. This list was very hard to rank, so these books are in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. I hope you enjoy and be sure to click on the book's cover to check out my review of that book! (For books I have yet to review on this site the link will go to my review on Goodreads)

1. Gathering Darkness (Falling Kingdoms #3) by Morgan Rhodes

2. The Shadow Throne (The Ascendance Trilogy #3) by Jennifer A. Nielsen

3. Silver Shadows (Bloodlines #5) by Richelle Mead

4. Take Me On (Pushing the Limits #4) by Katie McGarry

5. Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas

6. The Uninvited (Uninvited #1) by Sophie Jordan

7. Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe #1) by Rosamund Hodge

8. Fan Art by Sarah Tregay

10. The Strange Maid (United States of Asgard #2) by Tessa Gratton

11. Forest of Whispers (Forest of Whispers #1) by Jennifer Murgia

12. Neverwas (Amber House Trilogy #2) by Kelly Moore, Tucker Reed, and Larkin Reed

Honorable Mentions:

Final Bits: Let me explain the Honorable Mentions before I get any raging comments for The Fault in Our Stars only being on the Honorable Mentions list and not making the main list. Yes, I read TFiOS last year and loved it, I saw the movie, and loved it and I struggled with putting it on my main list because of a couple of reasons, first off it's such a well loved and known book that I'm not sure if there's a person alive that doesn't know what it is at this point and also it came out quite a while before most of the books on this list and while I wanted to honor that I both read and loved the book I didn't see it as fair to bump a newer book I loved for this one. Anyway those are my top books that I read and/or reviewed last year. What books made your list? Leave a comment or link to your list below! Happy New Year everyone!

  1. From this list I only read Silver Shadows, I did really enjoy that one and am looking forward to the last book in the series. A lot of people see to love the Throne of Glass series, but it wasn's a book for me, I DNF'd the first book. I really enjoyed Daughter of Smoke and Bone as well. Shadow and Bone is on my to-read list and I just received my copy, so I hope to read that one this year.
    Great list!

  2. Ooh, so many that I own! Looks like I'm going to be busy this year. I'm trying to cut back on blog tour reviews and hit my own books and others that I've been wanting to read. My oldest daughter loved Cruel Beauty and keeps telling me to read it NOW. The only one I did read from your list was Forest of Whispers. Jennifer Murgia rocks!

  3. I have a few of these I read and have to agree: Heir of Fire, Take Me On, Cruel Beauty, The Art of Lainey, Uninvited! And you included Forest of Whispers, which of course I loved (ok I'm a bit biased, but seriously, I can't wait for Castle of Sighs!). Great list!
