Most Wanted: Books of February 2014

Hey guys and welcome to another exciting installment of Most Wanted, my monthly book feature! (Ironically most of these books have already been released)

1. Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3)

Release Date: February 4, 2014
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Publisher: HarperCollins
Length: 352 pages

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, called "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love"

Juliette now knows she may be the only one who can stop the Reestablishment. But to take them down, she'll need the help of the one person she never thought she could trust: Warner. And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew-about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam-was wrong.

In Shatter Me, Tahereh Mafi created a captivating and original story that combined the best of dystopian and paranormal and was praised by Publishers Weekly as "a gripping read from an author who's not afraid to take risks." The sequel, Unravel Me, blew readers away with heart-racing twists and turns, and New York Times bestselling author Kami Garcia said it was "dangerous, sexy, romantic, and intense." Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and climactic end.

Why I Want It: Well aside from the fact that this is the final book in an amazing series, I just cannot wait to see who Juliette ends up with. This love triangle is amazing and VERY CRAZY!

2. Cress (The Lunar Chronicles #3)

Release Date: February 4, 2014
Author: Marissa Meyer
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Length: 560 pages

Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

Why I Want It: Being the huge fan of fairy tale retellings that I am I cannot wait to see how this series twists the classic story of Rapunzel.

3. The Guard (The Selection #2.5)

Release Date: February 4, 2014
Author: Kiera Cass
Publisher: HarperTeen Impulse
Length: 64 pages

Before America Singer met Prince Maxon . . .
Before she entered the Selection . . .
She was in love with a boy named Aspen Leger.

Don't miss this digital original novella set in the captivating world of Kiera Cass's #1 New York Times bestselling Selection trilogy. This brand new 64-page story begins just after the group of Selected girls is narrowed down to the Elite and is told from Aspen's point of view. The Guard also features a teaser to The One, the thrilling conclusion to The Selection trilogy.

Why I Want It: Yes, I know that I've constantly said on here that I utterly detest Aspen, and I still do, but at the same time I really liked Aspen at the beginning of The Selection and I'm hoping that this book will give me a better perspective so that if America ends up with Aspen I won't feel compelled to boycott Kiera Cass.

4. Split Second (Pivot Point #2)

Release Date: February 11, 2014
Author: Kasie West
Publisher: HarperTeen
Length: 360 pages

Life can change in a split second.

Addie hardly recognizes her life since her parents divorced. Her boyfriend used her. Her best friend betrayed her. She can’t believe this is the future she chose. On top of that, her ability is acting up. She’s always been able to Search the future when presented with a choice. Now she can manipulate and slow down time, too . . . but not without a price.

When Addie’s dad invites her to spend her winter break with him, she jumps at the chance to escape into the Norm world of Dallas, Texas. There she meets the handsome and achingly familiar Trevor. He’s a virtual stranger to her, so why does her heart do a funny flip every time she sees him? But after witnessing secrets that were supposed to stay hidden, Trevor quickly seems more suspicious of Addie than interested in her. And she has an inexplicable desire to change that.

Meanwhile, her best friend, Laila, has a secret of her own: she can restore Addie’s memories . . . once she learns how. But there are powerful people who don’t want to see this happen. Desperate, Laila tries to manipulate Connor, a brooding bad boy from school—but he seems to be the only boy in the Compound immune to her charms. And the only one who can help her.

As Addie and Laila frantically attempt to retrieve the lost memories, Addie must piece together a world she thought she knew before she loses the love she nearly forgot . . . and a future that could change everything.

Why I Want It: So yeah, I'll admit it. I haven't read Pivot Point... yet. I've heard so many great things about the first book and it was on a Most Wanted list itself so I'm hoping to finally get to this series, maybe even this month.

Final Bits

That's it for this installment, what are you looking forward to most this month? Leave a Comment below! Happy Reading!

  1. Ignite Me and Cress! I need to read these books so bad. Cress is in my city but not at my house yet, and Ignite Me has been delayed (wow, I hate life). I honestly can't wait to read both<3

  2. I already read the first two. I loved Ignite Me and how she chose to end it. I thought it was really great. Although part of me feels like there needed to be an epilogue. As for Cress...SIGHS...this is one of my favorite series. I really can't wait to find out how things end. And the very end of Cress actually gave me tingles!
